Did you leave a server on Discord, and want to get back in?

Thankfully, this isn’t a huge problem, and rejoining a Discord server that you left is quite easy once you know what to do.

In this article, we’ll cover several different methods you can use to rejoin Discord servers, even if you no longer know the name of them.

Let’s get to it!

1. Revisit The Place Where You Received The Invite Link

Discord App

For public servers, the easiest way to rejoin is to simply revisit the place where you got the invite link in the first place.

For example, many YouTubers will include links to their Discord servers within their video descriptions, or on their YouTube profile pages.

These invite links are usually permanent, and allow an unlimited number of people to join. This means that you should be able to visit the exact same link, and rejoin it just like you did the first time.

Many forum communities or subreddit Discords will also maintain a pinned thread with an invite link, or include it on the sidebar of each page.

Generally speaking, if you’re part of a community, looking around their website or asking a community member for assistance will usually point you in the right direction.

Once you’ve located the invite link, all you’ve got to do is click on it and follow the on-screen instructions to rejoin.

2. DM A Server Member For An Invite

Another easy way to rejoin a Discord server that you’ve left is to DM a server member, and ask for an invite link.

If you’ve been in the server a while, it’s likely that you’ve spoken with at least one other member in your direct messages.

So, if you write to them to let you know that you left the server by mistake, they should be able to either invite you directly, or ask a server moderator to create one for you.

Then, just click on the invite link and follow the instructions to rejoin the server.

Creating invite links over and over again can quickly become annoying for staff members, so avoid leaving the server again if possible!

How To Rejoin A Server You Don’t Remember The Name Of

While rejoining a Discord server you just left is easy enough, what if you don’t remember the name of the server – or don’t have any friends that can invite you back?

In this instance, you’ll need to take more drastic action, and request a full copy of your data from Discord.

Then, browse through the data until you find the server name, and some of the people in it. You can then use this information to request an invite back.

Note that receiving your data package from Discord can take up to 30 days, so it certainly isn’t a quick solution. Still, it’s one that’s practically guaranteed to work.

To request a copy of your Discord data, follow these steps:

  1. Open up the Discord software (PC) or mobile app.
  2. Click the gear icon near your username to open your User Settings.
  3. Click on ‘Privacy & Safety.’
  4. At the bottom of the page, click on the button that says, ‘Request Data.’

Can You Rejoin A Server You’ve Been Banned From?

No. Once you’ve been permanently banned from a server, there is no way to rejoin it – even if a server member sends you an invite link.

In fact, this is the difference between being ‘kicked’ and being banned from a Discord server. If you’re kicked, you can rejoin with an invite link. If you’re banned, there’s no way for you to be able to rejoin.

Of course, some people have been able to circumvent bans by changing their IP address and using a new account.

However, this is a lot of extra work and isn’t really respectful to the server or its members.

Therefore, we recommend respecting the ban, or talking with the server staff to see what you can do to warrant being unbanned – and then invited back.

Does Discord Have Any List Of Servers You’ve Joined?

Unfortunately, Discord does not have any viewable list of servers that you’ve joined in the past.

However, if you request a copy of your data from Discord, you should be able to find a lot of data about your account, including the server names as well as all of the messages you’ve sent.

So, if you forgot the name of past servers, this is an excellent way to find them again.

Conclusion

Fortunately, rejoining a Discord server is easy – most of the time anyway.

If the server is private however, you will need another invite link to join – so try not to leave any Discord servers by mistake!
