Was there a Reel that you previously enjoyed watching on Facebook, and want to know how to find it again?
The truth is, Facebook includes several features that can help you locate videos you’ve previously watched on the platform.
So, in this article I’ll be sharing each method to find previously viewed Reels on the Facebook app, and some strategies to try out if you’re on a computer as well.
Let’s get into it!
Can You View A Complete List Of Watched Reels On Facebook?
It’s important to note that there’s two different types of videos on Facebook, and Facebook handles the both of them differently.
Originally, Facebook had their original, regular videos, which can typically be found in news feeds and in the ‘Watch’ tab of the Facebook app or website.
Then in 2021, Facebook introduced Reels to the platform, which first originated on Instagram as an attempt to compete with TikTok.
While you can view a complete history of all normal videos that you’ve watched, you’re unable to view a complete history of all of your watched Reels.
That being said, many people consider both of these to be the same thing, and even in the case of Reels specifically, there are still strategies that can help you find the ones you’ve watched previously.
So, let’s look over how you can view the previous Reels and videos that you’ve watched!
How To View Previously Watched Reels / Videos On Facebook
Depending on the type of video you’re looking for, there are several different ways to find them.
While I’ll first cover how to find regular Facebook videos, the other two strategies will be focused on Reels specifically.
1. Access Your Video Watch History
The first thing to try out, is to view the complete history for videos that you’ve watched on Facebook.
This will list out every video that you’ve ever watched on Facebook, unless you’ve specifically cleared your Facebook watch history in the past.
This is true even if you did not interact with the video at all, such as liking, saving or sharing it!
So, how do you view your Facebook watch history? It’s pretty simple – just follow these instructions:
- Open the Facebook app.
- Tap on the ‘Watch’ tab on the bottom navigation menu.
- On the tabs running across the top, tap on ‘Saved.’
- Tap on ‘Watch History.’
The screen will immediately update to show you your complete video watch history on Facebook, starting with your most recently viewed videos first.
Note that on the saved tab, you’ll also find any videos that you’ve specifically chosen to save – so it may be a good idea to look through this as well!
Sadly on the Facebook website on your computer, your watch history is a bit more complicated to access. Still, you can view your watch history on the computer by following these instructions:
- Visit your Facebook profile.
- Click on the icon with 3 dots to bring up a submenu.
- Click on the button that says ‘Activity log.’
- Click on ‘Videos you’ve watched.’
Once again, the most recently viewed videos will be shown first!
2. Check For Saved Reels
Next, you’ll want to look over the list of Reels that you’ve saved.
Generally speaking, it’s a good idea to save any Reels that you’ll want to come back to later, as Facebook assembles them all together in one place. So, even if you only intend to return it once, you should save it – you can always unsave it later!
Thankfully, accessing your saved Reels is pretty easy.
To view a complete list of your saved Reels on Facebook, follow these steps:
- Tap on your profile picture in the bottom-right corner of the navigation menu.
- Tap on ‘Reels’ to access the Facebook Reels section of the Facebook app.
- Once there, tap on your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Tap on the button underneath your profile picture that says ‘View saved.’
This will display a list of all of your saved Reels!
3. Check Your Liked Reels
In addition to your saved Reels, Facebook also has a special section for any Reels that you’ve liked.
In fact, if you’re already on your saved Reels, accessing your liked Reels can be done in just a few seconds.
Keep in mind that while there may be Reels that overlap, these are technically two separate lists. So, just because you don’t see a specific Reel in your saved Reels, does not mean it won’t show up in your liked Reels!
To view your liked Reels on Facebook, follow these steps:
- Tap on your profile picture in the bottom-right corner of the navigation menu.
- Tap on ‘Reels’ to access the Facebook Reels section of the Facebook app.
- Once there, tap on your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Tap on the tab that says ‘Liked reels.’
From here, browse through your list of liked Reels – hopefully the one you’re looking for will be there!
Conclusion
Unlike regular videos, Facebook does not allow you to view a complete history of your previously viewed Reels.
However, if you’ve interacted with a Reel by saving or liking it, then Facebook will allow you to find it again later via the saved Reels or liked Reels section.
I hope that you’ve managed to find the video or Reel that you were looking for.
