Target is one of the largest retailers in the United States, with over 1,900 locations in the U.S alone.

Although there are many benefits to using credit cards (Target even has one of their own, the RedCard), there may be times when you wish to pay in cash instead.

Therefore, you may find yourself wondering – does Target have ATMs in theirs stores?

Let’s investigate

Does Target Have ATMs?

In 2022, it can be confirmed that most Target locations have an ATM machine in their store. Based on our research, the number of Target stores with a working ATM is over 95%.

It appears that having an ATM inside the store is standard, and implemented at the corporate level – meaning it is not up to the store. It is more likely than not that your local Target does in fact have an ATM.

Note that there is a chance that certain Target stores may not have an ATM (and even if they do, the machines occasionally need servicing.) In order to be completely sure, it would be best to call Target beforehand to enquire.

Where Are Target ATMs Located?

Typically, Target’s ATM machines are located near the front of the store, near the checkout lanes and returns center. It is conveniently placed to make it easier to access the funds in your bank account.

Of course, if you are having any trouble finding the ATM machine inside of target, a Target employee will be happy to help and point you in the right direction.

How Much Money Can You Withdrawal From A Target ATM?

Before we can answer this, it’s important to know what type of ATMs Target uses.

Target uses ATMs provided by Cardtronics, which are part of the Allpoint network. Cardtronics does not set the withdrawal limit for your account. Instead, this is determined by the financial institution that has issued your card (for example, Capital One, Citi Bank, Wells Fargo, Chase, etc.)

Typically, this can be as low as $300 per day, to thousands of dollars per day depending on your account.

If you are unsure, look up your card online or contact your card issuer directly for more information.

Note that depending on your bank, they may allow you to overdraft your account, even through the use of an ATM. Always check your balance before processing the ATM transaction.

Allpoint ATMs allow you to view your balance directly from the ATM, so it is a good idea to make note of this after withdrawing money as well.

Do Target ATMs Have A Withdrawal Fee?

Like all ATMs in the Allpoint network, the ATMs at Target do not have any withdrawal fees.

This means that you are free to withdrawal cash as needed without having to worry about surcharges or extra payments.

Allpoint operates over 55,000 ATMs worldwide, and has partnered with over 1,000 different financial institutions. It is likely that your bank supports the use of Allpoint ATMs.

Other stores that use Allpoint ATMs include, but are not limited to CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and Costco. If you’ve ever used an Allpoint ATM at one of these stores, the experience should be exactly the same.

Allpoint also has a downloadable app you can use to find the nearest Allpoint ATM, or you can use their ATM locator here. That’s kind of neat!

Can I Use My Target Visa Gift Card At An ATM?

Unfortunately, you are unable to withdrawal funds from an ATM using a Target Visa Gift Card. It should be noted that these cards are also not reloadable.

However, Visa Gift Cards are not only restricted to shopping at Target – you should be able to use them most places where Visa cards are accepted.

Conclusion

You can be relatively certain that your local Target has an ATM available, as the vast majority of Target locations do.

If you’d like to avoid using an ATM for whatever reason and you just want some spare cash in your wallet, Target also allows you to request up to $40 cash back at the time of purchase.
