While there are many places you can buy pumpkins each year, many families seek them out at Walmart due to Walmart’s friendly pricing.

But does Walmart sell pumpkins, and if so  – how much do they cost? Are they sold outside of just October and November?

Let’s find out!

Does Walmart Sell Pumpkins?

Fortunately, Walmart does seem to be one of the big retail giants that also sells pumpkins during the fall season.

Other retailers that sell pumpkins include Albertsons, Lowe’s, Costco, Home Depot, and many grocery stores.

Where Are Pumpkins Located Inside Walmart?

While location inside the store can vary between stores, they are typically found in a few different sections:

1. Outside the entrance of the store.

2. Inside Walmart’s garden center

3. In the produce section (for smaller sugar pumpkins.)

If you need help finding pumpkins in Walmart, a Walmart employee should be able to point you in the right direction.

Additionally, there is a chance that your local Walmart isn’t carrying pumpkins yet. In this instance, they may be able to tell you when they are scheduled to arrive.

Finally, pumpkins are also available on Walmart.com when they are in season.

When Do Pumpkins Arrive At Walmart?

You may find yourself wondering, when does Walmart start selling pumpkins?

When Does Walmart Stock Pumpkins

According to a response from a Walmart customer support representative on Facebook, it appears that pumpkins first arrive at Walmart beginning in late August.

However, this date can vary by location. There is a chance that your local Walmart may not begin carrying pumpkins until September.

Additionally, because this message was originally published in 2013, there is a chance that policy has changed since then. We will update this article later this year as pumpkins begin to arrive in Walmart stores.

This is line with other retailers, who often begin to sell pumpkins early on in the fall season.

Does Walmart Carry Pumpkins Year Round?

You may be wondering if Walmart carries pumpkins year round, or if they’re only limited to the Halloween season.

Unfortunately, it does seem that pumpkins are only available during fall, from late August to early November.

While pumpkins are listed for sale on Walmart.com throughout the year, they are marked as ‘out of stock’ and you are unable to order them.

However, canned pumpkins, and other foods containing pumpkin may be found in stores all throughout the year.

How Much Do Pumpkins Cost At Walmart?

Because Walmart charges a flat price for pumpkins rather than charging them by the pound, the price per pound can vary between pumpkins.

Although pumpkins are not yet in season so we don’t know Walmart’s pumpkin pricing for 2022, historically Walmart has charged around 24 cents per pound, making them one of the cheapest options as far as pumpkin shopping goes.

Online on Walmart.com, pumpkins are currently priced at $3.68 at the time of writing. In the product description, it states that the pumpkins will weigh between 14 and 18 pounds.

This is line with historical pricing, as the price range with this information leads to the pumpkins being between 20 and 26 cents per pound.

Note that prices are subject to fluctuation. Still, this is a pretty great deal!

How Much Are Mini Pumpkins At Walmart?

Just like regular carving pumpkins, pie pumpkins are priced at a flat rate.

At the time of writing, the price for a pie pumpkin on Walmart.com is $2.48, and weighs between 1.7 and 2.8 pounds.

Does Walmart sell pumpkins? Absolutely, and they sell them at pretty great prices too!

While you won’t be able to buy pumpkins at Walmart year round, Walmart is a pretty great to pick them up once they’re in season.
