  • How To Turn On Post Notifications On TikTok

Are you looking to receive notifications when your favorite creators post on TikTok?

While post notifications are a common feature on other social media platforms, TikTok doesn’t exactly make it easy to figure out how to turn them on.

In this article, we’ll show you step-by-step how you can start receive post notifications from TikTok. We’ll also go over how to receive notifications only for specific creators, so you never miss a video that they publish.

    Let’s get to it!

    Table of Contents

How To Enable Post Notifications On TikTok

First, let’s look over how you can turn post notifications overall.

Even if you only want to see post notifications from a specific person, you must first follow these steps before notifications will even send out in the first place.

Thankfully, these steps only take a few moments to carry out!

Step One: Allow TikTok To Send Notifications From Your Phone’s Settings

The first thing you’ll need to do is allow TikTok to send you notifications on the first place!

If you already receive TikTok notifications at all or you’re sure you’ve allowed notifications when you first downloaded the app, you can skip this step.

If not, you will need to enable them now in your phone’s settings.

To enable notifications from TikTok on iPhone / iPad, follow these steps:

    1. Open your iPhone or iPad’s Settings app.
    2. Scroll down until you reach TikTok, or type ‘TikTok’ into the search bar.
    3. Tap on ‘Notifications.’
    4. Make sure ‘Allow Notifications’ is toggled on.

To enable notifications from TikTok on Android phones or tablets, follow these steps:

    • Open your settings.
    • Tap on ‘Notifications.’
    • Scroll until you reach TikTok.
    • Tap on TikTok, and then tap on ‘Allow Notifications.’

Once you’ve ensured that TikTok is permitted to send you notifications, you can exit your phone or tablet’s settings.

The rest of the steps will take place inside of the TikTok app itself!

Step Two: Visit Your TikTok Profile, And Open Your Settings

Next, we need to enable post notifications within TikTok settings itself.

To do this, you will first need to visit your profile, by tapping on the profile icon in the bottom-right corner once the app is opened.

From there, tap on the icon with three-horizontal lines in the top-right corner.

This will open up a new box with additional options. Once the box is opened, tap on ‘Settings and privacy’ to pull up TikTok’s settings.

Step Three: Tap On ‘Push Notifications’

    Push Notification Settings TikTok

Once you’ve opened up TikTok’s settings, you will be greeted with a lot of options!

This can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but TikTok neatly categorized all of the various settings to make finding things as easy as possible.

To receive push notifications when videos are posted however, the section you are looking for is called ‘Push notifications’, and it will be located under the ‘Content & Activity’ section.

You can recognize it, because it will have an icon of a notification bell next to it.

Once you’ve located the push notifications button, tap on it to open up TikTok’s push notification settings.

Step Four: Toggle ‘Videos From Accounts You Follow’ To On

Once you’ve pulled up the push notification settings, you’ll see a list of all sorts of notifications that you’re able to receive.

As you can see, TikTok gives you a lot of options, and really allows you to tailor your notifications quite a bit!

In order to receive post notifications however, you’ll want to scroll down to the ‘Video suggestions’ section.

Once you’re there, make sure ‘Videos from accounts you follow’ is turned on. Once it is, you’ll begin receiving post notifications when the creators you follow publish a TikTok.

In order to maximize the number of these that you receive, I recommend turning off ‘Videos from people you may know’ and ‘Videos you might like.’

TikTok will only send out a limited number of notifications. By preventing them from sending certain types, you’ll get more of the post notifications that you actually care about.

(Optional) Step Five: Turn On Notifications For Live Videos

Did you know that TikTok treats live videos separately?

Therefore, if you want to receive notifications when your favorite TikTok accounts go live, you’ll need to enable this as well.

To do this, scroll down to the ‘LIVE’ section, and make sure ‘Recommended LIVE videos’ is toggled on.

Additionally, tap on ‘LIVE notification settings’ to bring up another menu.

Once there, you will be shown a list of accounts you follow. Make sure ‘Get LIVE notifications from accounts you follow’ is toggled on, and then scroll down to the specific accounts you want to receive notifications from.

Tap on their username, and then select your desired option.

If you want to receive notifications for ALL of their live videos, select, ‘Get all LIVE notifications.’

If you only want to receive notifications for certain live videos that TikTok thinks you’ll be interested in, select ‘Get recommended LIVE notifications’ instead.

Once you’ve chosen your desired settings, feel free to click the back arrow until you’re completely out of TikTok settings.

At this point, congratulations – you will start receiving post notifications on TikTok!

If you want even more control over your notifications however, I encourage you to keep reading for more information.

Can You Turn On Notifications For Individual Profiles?

If you follow the steps listed out above, you will now begin receiving notifications when videos are posted by accounts you follow.

However, this setting will turn on notifications from ALL accounts that you’re currently following on TikTok.

But is there any way to only turn post notifications on for specific creators?

    Yes and no.

Unfortunately, TikTok does not let you specifically select who you want to receive post notifications from, and who you do not.

However, TikTok’s algorithm for post notification is weighted. This means that it will show notifications from certain accounts more frequently than others.

TikTok’s goal with post notifications is to get you to open TikTok again, show you interesting videos, and keep you scrolling.

This means they have a direct incentive to show you notifications from your favorite accounts, and not send notifications for accounts you only kind of like.

So, how does this benefit you?

It turns out, the more you engage with a specific creator, the more frequently TikTok will send post notifications out.

So, simply by watching a certain person’s videos longer, liking and commenting on them more frequently, and opening the notifications that are sent out for them, TikTok will show those people more – and other creators less.

Can You Get Notifications For ALL Posts That Someone Makes?

By now, we have a pretty good understanding of how to receive post notifications from specific creators, for the new TikTok videos they publish on their page.

But is there any way to receive a guaranteed notification each and every time they post a new video?

    Unfortunately, the answer is no.

Unlike on Instagram for example (where you’ll get a notification for EVERY post as soon as its published), TikTok does not yet have this functionality.

This is a bit surprising, considering how hard TikTok tries to get people coming back to the app – and how long people typically browse for whenever they open it up.

Thankfully, the post notification algorithm seems to work in a pretty simple manner – the more you engage with a creator, the more frequently you’ll receive notifications when they post.

You can train the algorithm further by regularly opening up the notification whenever its sent to you – showing TikTok’s system that the notifications are successful in getting you to come back.

This is TikTok’s goal with post notifications, after all!

Still, it’s frustrating they don’t let you get notifications for each video. While we predict this is done to prevent spam or notification overload, we only hope it’s something that TikTok will add in the future.

Note: The one exception to this for live videos. As noted earlier, it is possible to receive notifications for all TikTok Lives that a creator starts – just not their regular videos or TikTok stories.

A Warning If You Use Multiple Accounts!

If you have more than one TikTok account, you’ll want to pay attention to this because it’s very important!

TikTok allows up to 3 accounts on one device. However, if you have post notifications turned on, they will not send out notifications for all of your accounts at the same time.

Instead, TikTok will only send out notifications for the account that you’re currently logged into.

So, if you switch accounts and close the app, you will only receive notifications from that account – even if you would’ve normally received notifications on the other ones.

Therefore, if you’re looking to receive post notifications from a specific person, you should either log back into your main account before closing the app, or follow the creator on both accounts.

This way, you won’t miss any important notifications you’re hoping to receive.

At this time, the only way to receive notifications from several of your accounts is to remain signed in to each account on a separate device.

    Conclusion

Once you know the steps to take, turning on post notifications from your favorite TikTok creators is easy.

While there isn’t any way to get notifications for every single video that they post (like you could on Instagram for example), you can get pretty close if you engage frequently with their content.

  • How To Mute Someone On TikTok

Are you looking to mute someone on TikTok?

Whether you want to temporarily hide someone’s comments or you want to mute them permanently without actually blocking them, TikTok makes this very easy to do.

So, in this article I’ll be sharing how you can mute someone across various TikTok features, such as regular comments, TikTok live, and more!

    Table of Contents

How To Mute Someone On TikTok

    Mute Notifications TikTok

If you want to mute a specific account so that you no longer receive any sort of notifications from them, doing this is easy.

In fact, TikTok has a feature built into it that will let you block all notifications from specific people, even if they do something like send you a direct message.

To mute someone on TikTok so you no longer receive notifications from them, follow these steps:

    1. Open the TikTok app and tap on the ‘Inbox’ tab on the bottom of the screen, to open up your direct messages.
    2. Tap on the person that you want to mute. If the person isn’t yet in your direct messages list, tap on the icon in the top-right corner to start a new message with them.
    3. Once you’ve opened up the direct messages page with that person, tap on the icon with three dots in the top-right corner.
    4. On the new window that pops up, toggle ‘Mute notifications’ on.

Congratulations! You will no longer receive any sort of notifications from this person until you decide to unmute them again.

If you wish to unmute them, all you need to do is follow the same steps, but toggle ‘Mute notifications’ back off again.

Let’s say however that notifications aren’t your problem – you don’t want to see this person at all, but you don’t want to block them either.

We’ll talk more about how to mute people in other ways in just a moment!

Can You Automatically Hide A Specific Person’s Comments?

    TikTok Logo

Thankfully, TikTok gives you a lot of control over who can leave comments on your videos.

However, TikTok unfortunately does not allow you to automatically filter out comments from a specific person. The only way to prevent someone from commenting entirely is to block them completely, which prevents them from watching your videos (or interacting with you) at all.

That being said, you can restrict comments to people you follow back, or automatically filter all comments on your videos within TikTok’s settings. This will require you to manually approve each comment before it appears on your video.

What About On Other People’s Videos?

Since you can filter who’s comment you can see on your videos, can you also do this on other people’s videos?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. Unless you block someone, their comments will still be visible on other people’s videos.

That being said, TikTok will show you the comments of people that you’re following first.

So, if you unfollow someone, it’s unlikely that you’ll come across their comments unless their comments manage to get a lot of likes.

Otherwise, they will simply be buried by the sheer volume of other people commenting.

How To Mute Someone On TikTok Live

Due to the nature of TikTok live videos, TikTok has given creators some additional options when it comes to moderating their live broadcasts.

So, it’s possible to mute people on TikTok lives in different ways than you could on normal videos.

To mute somebody on TikTok live, follow these steps:

    1. When the viewer leaves a comment, tap on their profile picture.
    2. On the window that pops up, tap on ‘Manage’ in the top-right corner.
    3. A new window will pop up, with three options – report, mute, and block. Tap on the ‘Mute’ option.
    4. TikTok will give you a list of durations you can use to mute them for – for example, 30 seconds, 5 minutes, or the entire length of the live broadcast. Select the option you wish to use.
    5. Tap on the red ‘Mute’ button at the bottom of the screen.

Once you’ve muted a person, their past comments will be immediately removed, and no future comments they try to leave will be seen until the muting duration has passed.

If the time expires, you will need to manually mute them a second time.

So, if you plan on doing a longer broadcast, it’s recommended that you mute them for the remainder of the TikTok LIVE video.

Unfortunately, there is no way to mute somebody in advance for future broadcasts. If an audience member is repeatedly bothersome, it may be a good idea to block them instead.

    Conclusion

As you can see, muting someone on TikTok is relatively straightforward.

While the process is a little bit different depending on how you’d like to mute them, TikTok gives you a lot of control over who you hear from, and who you don’t. So if somebody is bothering you, than you shouldn’t hesitate to mute them – at least for a little while.

I hope that you’ve found this article to be helpful. If you have any other questions about muting people on TikTok, feel free to ask them using the comment form below. I’ll respond to all questions as soon as I can.

  • How To Know If Someone Deleted Your Comment On TikTok (Verified Tests!)

Do you believe someone may have deleted the comment you left on one of their videos, and you want to know for sure?

While TikTok will not notify you when a comment is deleted, there are a few ways to figure it out for yourself.

In this article, I’ll share three different methods to know whether your comment was deleted, and even how to retrieve it and see what it said if it’s no longer available!

So without further ado, let’s get started.

    Table of Contents

How To Know If Someone Deleted Your TikTok Comment

    TikTok Logo

Let’s look over the different ways to know whether someone deleted your TikTok comment.

We’ll start with the quickest method, but I’ll save the most reliable method for last in case the other two don’t work well enough, or you still aren’t certain whether your comment was deleted.

    1. Manually Check The Video

    Comment Example TikTok

The first – and perhaps the easiest way to know whether your comment has been deleted or not, is to simply revisit the video that you left the comment on.

Then, tap on the comments icon on the right-hand side of the screen.

Regardless of how many likes your comment has (or had), it will always show your own comment first – alongside the creator comments, and comments from other people that you’re following.

So, you only need to look amongst the comments that appear first to see whether or not yours is there.

If you know you left a comment on that video but it’s not appearing, than chances are it’s been deleted.

Note however that comments that are simply being suppressed or automatically hidden may still appear for you, even if the comment doesn’t appear for others. For example, if the comment is in review, or it contains a word that the creator has chosen to automatically filter comments for.

    2. Ask The Creator Of The Video

Next, you can also ask the creator of the video directly if they have deleted your comment.

Currently, there are only three people that can delete a comment on a TikTok video – the video creator, the person that left the comment, or a moderator.

Since you’ll already know whether or not YOU deleted it, and it’s quite unlikely it was deleted by a moderator unless it broke TikTok’s rules, this leaves the video creator as the only person left who could have deleted it.

So, send them a private message (or leave another comment on their video) asking whether or not they deleted your comment. If they get back to you, you’ll know for sure whether or not it was deleted!

    3. Download Your TikTok Data

    TikTok Data Request

The last, and most surefire way to know whether or not someone deleted your comment on TikTok is to request a copy of your TikTok data.

The data package that TikTok provides includes a record of all the comments you’ve left across all videos. Thankfully, this also includes comments that have been deleted.

So, if you grab your data package, you’ll be able to see the original comment you left. If it’s no longer on the video, you’ll know that someone deleted it.

Although getting a copy of your TikTok data can take some time, the entire process is actually quite easy.

To request a copy of your TikTok data, follow these steps:

    1. Open TikTok and go to your profile.
    2. Tap on the icon in the top-right corner with three horizontal lines.
    3. Tap on ‘Settings and privacy’ to pull up TikTok’s settings.
    4. Tap on ‘Privacy.’
    5. Under the ‘Personalization And Data’ section, tap on ‘Download your data.’
    6. Under ‘Select file format’, select TXT rather than JSON, and then tap on the ‘Request data’ button at the bottom of your screen.
    7. Wait a few days, then return to this page and visit the ‘Download data’ section to download your TikTok data, and full comments history.

You’ll then be able to download and look through your entire comment history!

Why Would Someone Have Deleted Your Comment?

Now that we know how to see whether someone has deleted your comment, it begs an interesting question – why would someone bother deleting your comment in the first place?

Ultimately, it could come down to a few reasons.

For example, some it could be possible that your comment was critical in some way, and some people can’t handle criticism very well. They may have deleted your comment to avoid other people from feeling the same way, and generally viewing their video in a more negative light.

Or, perhaps they are easily offended, and something about your comment was offensive to them.

Of course, it simply could have been an accident. Deleting a comment on one of your videos can be done in just a few gestures, making it possible that it was deleted by mistake while they were reading it.

Unless you ask them, there may not be any way to know for sure!

Note: Comments that violate TikTok’s community guidelines may be automatically taken down / hidden, or removed after they’ve been reported. So, if there is any chance that your comment broke TikTok’s rules, it’s possible that TikTok moderation may have been the ones to remove it, not the video creator themselves.

    Conclusion

Currently, there are three ways to know whether someone deleted your comment on TikTok. You can either manually check the video itself, ask the creator directly, or download a copy of your TikTok data to look for the comment.

Of course, the only reason to know why it was deleted would be to ask the creator or moderator that deleted it.

I hope that you’ve found this article helpful, and you’ve managed to discover whether or not your comment has been deleted. Remember that no notification will be sent when this happens, so the above methods are the only ways to know for sure.

    Wishing you the best,

  • Can My Followers See My Comments On TikTok? – Answered!

One of the great things about TikTok is that you have a lot of freedom to express yourself.

Some things however, you may not want your following and friends to find out about.

So, you may be wondering – can your TikTok followers see your comments? How easy are your comments to find, and are there any way to hide certain comments from your followers?

These are excellent questions. In this article, we’ll cover everything that you need to know!

    Table of Contents

Will TikTok Followers See My Comments?

    Comment On TikTok Video

Yes. It is possible for TikTok followers to see your comments. However, this might not work in the way that you expect.

Currently, there is no way for your followers to pull up a complete list of comments that you’ve left on other videos.

However, if they happen to find the video that you’ve left a comment on and they open up the comment section, the comments of the people that they’re following (including you) will appear above all of the other comments.

This is true even if your comment does not have a lot of likes. Because they’re following you, they will see your comments first.

The only exception to this is if they’ve also left a comment on that video themselves. In these instances, the order of displays comments is:

    1. Their comments, which always appear first.
    2. The comments of people that they’re following.
    3. The video’s other top comments.

Again, they would have to naturally stumble upon the video themselves in order to find your comment. However, it will be easily visible to them if they do find it.

So, you may want to be mindful of what you say. We will share some tips on how to hide comments from followers a little later on, so if you’re interesting in protecting your privacy keep reading!

Will My Followers Receive A Notification When I Comment

We know that followers can receive push notifications when you publish new videos, or go live.

But is there any way for them to receive notifications when you comment as well?

At this time, the answer is no.

Unless you are responding to a comment they have left (either on one of your videos, or someone else’s), they will not receive any sort of push notification to their devices, nor will any notification be available within their TikTok inbox.

This is true even if you are leaving comments on your own videos – again, unless you’re responding to them specifically.

So, you should feel free to comment comfortably without the risk of it getting pushed out to large numbers of people.

Is There Any Way To Hide Comments You Make From Your Followers On TikTok?

Sometimes, you want to be able to express your opinion without worrying about your loyal followers judging you for it.

This is especially true if you are saying something controversial or personal and you’re worried how your followers or friends may react.

So, is there any way to hide comments from followers?

    It turns out, there is!

However, it is not an ideal solution.

The easiest way to hide your comments from followers is to create a second account specifically for commenting.

This is one of the best reasons to have a second TikTok account, actually. You can avoid tying your identity to it in any way, allowing you to leave comments almost anonymously, without anyone knowing that it’s you.

Then, whenever you have a comment you want to share, switch accounts and go back to the video. This entire process can be done in just a few moments, so it can work really well!

Note: Turning your main account private won’t prevent followers from seeing your comments, unless you block them.

What About Who I’m Following? Can My Followers See The Accounts I Follow?

Now that we’ve talked about comments, let’s briefly talk about other privacy concerns you may have on TikTok.

For example, can your followers see who you’re following?

It turns out, they can! At least, if you haven’t disabled the ability to do so that is.

They can even see the exact order in which you’ve followed people – something that many people don’t know!

Thankfully, making the switch is actually pretty quick, and you don’t need to turn your account private in order to hide your following list.

    Conclusion

Currently, TikTok users can see the comments that you leave on other videos.

However, they must first discover the video themselves, and then open up the comment section to view it. They are unable to view all of your comments that you leave, and there is no way for them to see which videos you’ve commented on without manually stumbling across them.

I hope that you’ve found this article helpful. If you have any other questions about leaving comments on TikTok, please ask them using the comment form below.

  • How To Pin A Video To Your TikTok Profile

Did you see someone with pinned videos on their TikTok profile, and want to do this for your page as well?

Pinning videos to your TikTok page is not only easy, but there are a lot of benefits to doing so as well.

In this article, I’ll show you step-by-step how to pin a video to your profile. Then, I’ll share some tips to help you decide which videos you should pin, and the benefits of doing so.

    Let’s get started!

    Table of Contents

How To Pin Videos To Your TikTok Profile

    Pin Button, TikTok

The entire process of pinning a video to your TikTok profile can be done in just a few steps.

Currently, TikTok allows people to pin up to three videos to their profile at once. Once three pins have been placed, one of them must be unpinned before another can take its place.

Once a video has been unpinned, it will return to its original place on your TikTok profile, which is dependent on the order it was posted in.

Anyhow, to pin a video to your profile, follow these instructions:

    1. Open TikTok and visit your profile.
    2. Tap on the video you wish to pin to your profile.
    3. Tap on the icon with three dots, towards the lower-right side of your screen.
    4. On the box that pops up, tap on the button that says ‘Pin.’, which will be on the bottom row.

    Pin Confirmation TikTok

Once this is done, you will see a confirmation that the video has been successfully pinned, as illustrated above.

Before you go any further however, wait! You should be mindful of which videos you post to your profile, to maximize the impact.

Let’s look over some of the benefits of pinning videos, and how to choose the best videos to pin.

Why You Should Pin Videos To Your TikTok

Having a strategy for the videos that you pin is very important!

Truthfully, you shouldn’t just pin any video – you should be very specific about which videos you wish to pin. This way, they can have the maximum impact.

To fully understand this, let’s look over some of the benefits of pinning videos to your profile, so you can choose the ones that best match your objective for your page.

    1. Highlights Your Best Content

One powerful way to utilize pinned video is to use them to highlight your best content.

This can be the videos that you deem to be highest quality, best represent your page, or simply the ones that ended up getting the highest number of views.

TikTok videos have a relatively short lifecycle. If somebody doesn’t see the video shortly after it’s posted, there’s a good chance that they will never see it – especially as it gets pushed further and further down your profile.

Therefore, pinning some of your best performing content up to the top of your TikTok profile page is a great way to ensure it reaches more people, even long after you’ve posted it.

    2. Encourages New Followers

Most people do not follow you after watching only one video.

In fact, the cycle usually goes like this.

First, someone finds one of your videos in their For You page, or somebody else shares it with them.

Then, they click through to your profile to see more of what you have to offer. During this time, they’ll probably watch at least a few of your videos, so they’ll know whether or not it’s worth these getting thrown into your feed.

If they like what they see across several videos, only then will they decide to follow you.

So, by putting some of your best content front and center, it encourages people to follow you, so they don’t miss out on more content that they’ll love!

    3. Sets Expectations For Your Posts

Finally, pinned videos can show new potential followers what type of content they’re likely to receive by choosing to follow your page.

Unless you’re already a mega influencer, most people find success on TikTok by posting a bunch of similar videos.

These may be videos covering a similar topic, videos that were filmed or edited in a specific way, or a series of videos with multiple parts.

The idea here is that if somebody likes any of your videos, they’re likely to enjoy all of them because they’re similar in nature.

By pinning some of your videos up to the top that performed well, you can show new people what type of content you post – so they can decide whether or not they wish to follow you more quickly.

    Conclusion
