Are you waiting for your Shein order to arrive, but you’ve noticed that your tracking is no longer updating?

Before you panic, don’t worry – this issue is surprisingly common, and usually isn’t a cause for concern.

However, it can leave you wondering – why isn’t my Shein tracking updating, and is there anything that can be done to speed it up?

In this article, I’ll cover everything you need to know – and what you can do to not only get more detailed tracking information, but actually help speed up the package delivery as well!

Why Isn’t My Tracking Updating For My Shein Order?

Shein Website

In the majority of cases, you aren’t seeing any updates for your Shein order because it is currently in transit from overseas.

This is the longest part of the shipping process. Although Shein has opened up warehouses within the United States, the vast majority of items still ship by China.

Because of this, they need to be clear customs in China, be loaded into a shipping container, and shipped via sea until they reach your country. During this time, there will be no updates on the tracking page – and this is by far the longest part of the process, sometimes taking several weeks or longer.

It’s also possible that the package has been handed off to a different courier, who is no longer pushing tracking updates to the original tracking number that you provided. This is quite common with international shipments.

For example, all DHL eCommerce shipments will eventually be handed off to USPS, to make the final delivery.

That being said, a lack of tracking updates can sometimes be caused by other issues, including those that you’ll be required to fix.

So, let’s look over what to do when your Shein tracking isn’t updating!

What To Do When Your Shein Tracking Isn’t Updating

Even if your shipment is completely normal and isn’t experiencing any unusual issues, there are still things you should do right now, to ensure your package will arrive on time.

Staying on top of things will ensure that if any issues do pop up, you’re able to handle them quickly!

1. Try Tracking Your Shein Order With Parcels

Parcels Package Tracker

First, consider plugging your tracking number into a universal tracking tool, like Parcels.

As mentioned earlier, it’s possible your package may change hands, and end up with a different courier than the one it originally shipped with.

Parcels will track your package against hundreds of different couriers, giving you far deeper insight into every update that’s posted. Therefore, while it may seem like your Shein package is ‘stuck’, it’s possible that Parcels may actually show updates that you wouldn’t have been able to see originally.

So, give it a try! If you see updates posted within the last few days, chances are there’s nothing else you need to do.

Otherwise, continue on to one of the next steps.

2. Research The Most Recent Tracking Update

Once you’ve gotten the most recent tracking update for Parcels, I highly recommend doing a Google search for it. That way, you can learn more about what exactly it means.

Some tracking updates are quick to move on from. For example, DHL’s ‘Arrived At Delivery Facility’ message typically only takes a few days to move on from, and receive another update. Sometimes, this is done in under 24 hours!

However, other delivery messages – such as ‘Clearance In Progress’ from UPS or FedEx, or ‘Shipment On Hold’ from DHL can take significantly longer.

Unless there are unforeseen delays, the three longest parts of the shipping process are typically:

  1. Clearing the item from customs in the exporting country (which in Shein’s case, is usually China.)
  2. Physically moving the product via sea freight to the country it’s being delivered to.
  3. Clearing customs in the country it’s being delivered to.

While these can take weeks in some cases, most other messages will typically result in an update within a few days.

3. Check Your Email Or Phone For Updates

Next, be sure to check both your phone as well as your email address from any updates that have come from Shein, after your package has shipped.

This is really important!

It’s possible that you may owe additional taxes / customs duties, and need to arrange payment for them before the product can be cleared by customs.

This normally shouldn’t happen, but it can if Shein made a mistake when ordering, or you’re shipping the product to certain countries.

If you need to arrange payment, the product will not be released until payment is made.

And if you fail to make the payment at all, the product may be sent back, or destroyed by customs.

Therefore, it’s really important that you pay attention to any emails or text messages you may have received – especially if Shein’s tracking hasn’t updated in a long time!

4. Wait A Bit Longer

As mentioned earlier, it is normal for tracking updates not to show up for several days, or even several weeks depending on where the package is currently at.

Shein are experts at what they do, and generates over $30 billion in annual revenue. They are one of the largest online stores, period. Therefore, they are well trained to ensure that packages arrive smoothly and on time, even if unexpected issues occur.

Of course, issues can happen. Couriers can load products onto the wrong truck or plane, natural disasters or extreme weather can delay shipments, and even local strikes can cause processing centers to shut down.

However, it’s extremely rare for a package to be lost entirely.

Chances are, you’ll see a new update on your tracking page a few days from now, with more information on where your package is currently at.

Remember to use the Parcels tool mentioned earlier, as it will continue providing updates even if your package is tendered to another courier!

5. Contact Shein Support

If you’ve waited well beyond the expected delivery window and your package is still not showing any updates, it may be a good idea to contact Shein support.

Shein offers an on-time delivery guarantee, and can even offer you 500 points if your order doesn’t arrive by the promised delivery date.

More importantly, if your item is truly lost, you can expect to receive a full refund or replacement if the item is still in stock.

Although this can be incredibly frustrating – especially if you’ve already waited a long time for the items to arrive, ultimately this is the only thing left that you can do.

At the very least, you’ll get your money back – so it’s not a total loss!

Conclusion

Fortunately, it’s normal for your Shein tracking not to update for several days – especially if it’s being shipped from overseas.

That being said, you’ll want to remain on top of things, so you can fix any issues that may pop up (such as owing duties / taxes on the products that are being imported.)

I hope that you’ve found this article helpful, and it’s put your mind at ease.
