When’s the last time you’ve bought a gift for yourself?
There are so many fantastic items and gadgets out there that can benefit you as an entrepreneur, and you may not even know that they exist.
If you could spend a little bit of money to make life as an entrepreneur just that little bit better, wouldn’t you agree that it’s money well spent?
In this article, I aim to draw some light to some of these gadgets, most of which I use myself on a daily basis. These won’t just make life more enjoyable, they may help you become more productive as well! So whether you’re treating yourself or looking to buy gifts for another entrepreneur in your life, here are 8 fantastic entrepreneur gifts and gadgets worth considering.
1. Logitech G600 Mouse
This thing may look like a gaming mouse, but it actually has some pretty serious benefits.
See all of those buttons on the side? Those can be mapped to different key combinations – preventing you from having to take your hand off the mouse to actually press them.
These can be mapped to literally any shortcut you can think of, and while it may take a minute to set up, this ends up saving SO much time over the course of the year!
For example, I have some of my buttons set up to cycle through browser tabs, change the volume of my speakers, flip through Spotify songs, and switch computer windows.
Best of all, the mouse allows different presets that you can cycle through. When I’m editing video, I switch to my ‘video editing’ preset, which has all of the key combinations I use to edit most frequently.

2. A Quality Coffee Pot
When I bring new people to my factory, I sometimes like to joke that the most important machine there is the coffee pot.
If you’re a coffee drinker, it’s worth investing a little bit of extra money into getting a quality coffee pot.
The coffee pot I use and recommend is pictured above, and will be linked to below. This coffee pot makes a single cup when you need it, but also makes a full pot when you (or others) want more to drink.
Keurig cups are expensive, and ultimately take more time than making a full pot anyway. Try this coffee maker out!

3. Noise Cancelling Headphones
It’s a fact – distractions kill productivity.
Even if you manage to ignore distractions, that temporary lack of focus hurts you. It can take a lot of time to fully get back ‘in the zone’ – achieving complete focus, maximum productivity.
Noise cancelling headphones aid in this problem dramatically, filtering out background noise that will distract you from your work. While no solution will filter out every single noise, the Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones pictured above offer the best noise cancelling, and superb sound quality as well.
One feature I like in particular is the touch pad on the right side of the headphone. By putting your hand over it, it will temporarily lower the volume of your music, allowing you to talk to others as necessary without having to pull your headphones off.
I love my pair, and they seriously make a great gift for entrepreneurs!

4. Teleprompter
If you do any video production, you know how hard it can be getting it just right.
These days, teleprompters are quite cheap and will work with your smartphone or tablet. Combined with the PromptSmart+ app on iOS or Android, you can load up a script and get the perfect video done much more quickly.
The really neat thing about this setup, is that the PromptSmart+ app will actually listen to you deliver your message through your iPad or other tablet. Then, it will automatically move the script in line with where you are.
This means you can go at your own pace, or even stop and go off on an unscripted tangent, without needing a teleprompter operator to help you.
Even if you don’t plan on using a teleprompter with every shoot, they make things a lot easier for the videos where each word matters (likes sales videos.)

5. A Quality Chair
You aren’t doing yourself, your back, or your productivity any favors by working all day in a chair that’s uncomfortable.
This is something that isn’t really thought much about, but it’s very important. As an executive, you should be putting stress on your mind while you’re working, not on your body.
Any energy spent focusing on aches, pains, or getting into a comfortable position is energy you could have spent growing your company.
After all, this is something you have to buy once, and you’ll use it almost every day. When purchases like that come up, it’s worth spending more money to go the extra mile (I recommend buying a good bed for the same reasons.)
I don’t have any particular chairs in mind, but you can browse Amazon for the type of quality chairs you’d like by clicking here.
6. A Handheld Vacuum
This one isn’t at all exciting, but it sure is convenient!
Regardless of how careful we are, accidents happen. If you eat at your desk, you’re going to eventually make a mess that you’ll need to clean up.
Handheld vacuums make it easy to clean up any messes quickly, without having to go grab a larger vacuum from somewhere else. I always have one in my office solely because it’s such a huge time saver!

7. A Portable Phone Charger
How many times have you been out and about, only to realize your phone is about to die?
I can’t even count the number of times I’ve had to stop doing work on my phone in order to save every little bit of battery that I had left.
That was before I got a portable charger, of course.
A portable charger like the one pictured above can hold enough power to fully charge your phone over 6 times, making it a great thing to keep with you.

8. Apple Watch
If you really want to go all out, consider buying yourself an Apple Watch.
More than anything, consider this to be a time saving device, rather than some sort of fancy gadget that you’d actually spend a ton of time on.
For entrepreneurs, the most important two features are these:
1. You can view notifications without having to take your phone out of your pocket each and every time. This way, you only have to pull your phone out when it’s actually something important that needs more of your attention.
2. You can quickly respond to text messages by talking into your Apple Watch’s microphone, if that’s something you’re comfortable with. Personally, I wouldn’t want to broadcast an entire conversation out with my voice, but responding to quick little text messages isn’t a problem.
Considering smart watches are still relatively new, it’s likely that they’ll become more and more useful as time goes on! Just make sure they don’t end up distracting you even further – the goal is to save time, not waste more of it!

Conclusion
Each and every gadget on this list has the potential to improve your life, in a big or small way.
Considering how cheap some of these are, and how much of an impact they can actually have, it’s worth taking a moment to seriously consider whether or not you’ll be able to utilize them in your day-to-day work life.
I’d love to hear which one of these interests you the most. Likewise, I know that this list isn’t complete, and I’d love to hear what other gadgets you’d add as well.
I may just pick up one of your recommendations myself!
To your success,
– James McAllister
I think there should be to do list board. I use led to do list board and it is really helpful in keeping me on the track.

That’s a good one I definitely should have added! I forgot about it as I mainly do all of my to-do list stuff within apps on my phone, but having a physical board would serve some people great. When I do an updated version of this post I will definitely include that one!

Hi James,
All the gadgets are fantastic but would love to get a comfy chair and a noise-canceling headphone. A comfortable chair helps improve your posture and get more done. Same also for the headphone as it will take the distraction away. That is why I love working in the early hours of the morning or later at night when the is no noise.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Cheryl! Glad to hear that you like the Logitech mouse. It’s a huge time saver and gets rid of so many little annoyances – very nice being able to just press a button instead of switching windows to change Spotify songs for example.
