We’ve always been told that in order to be successful online, you need traffic. You need traffic to make money. You need traffic to gain followers. You need traffic to achieve all of your goals online. If you ever want to have a successful online business, you need a large audience, and consistent traffic coming into your website.

All of the above statements are wrong. Traffic to your website doesn’t matter. It’s a bold statement to make, but I say it because it’s quite true. Instead of focusing on how much traffic your website is getting, you should instead be asking yourself a very important question.

What are you doing with that traffic?

You could have an extremely large amount of visitors, but if you aren’t taking advantage of the traffic that you’ve got, your entire business model is wrong. If you aren’t making the most of your website’s visitors, you have a problem.

For a lot of people, their goal through there website is to make money. In order to make money, you’ve got to have visitors, yes, but if you aren’t actually making money off of those visitors, they’re near useless.

A small amount of visitors that are making you money are far better than a large amount of visitors that are not.

So how do you go about finding the type of people will make you money? You’ve got to find your target audience.

How To Find Your Target Audience

1. Target Buyers

If your goal is to make money online, you’ll want to target people who are ready to spend money on whatever you may have to offer. After all, advertisers pay for clicks because they’re hoping to make a sale. Visitors click on the ads because they’re interested in whatever is being advertised. Affiliate marketing follows the same format.

Review articles are great for this. Why? Think about it for a moment – who looks up review articles? People making a final decision before they purchase a product. In fact, up to 65% of buyers will look up reviews for products before making a purchase decision. If you manage to convince them, you may end up getting the commission for that sale.

2. Keep Them Coming Back With Quality Content

You’ve got a target visitor, great! Now it’s your job to keep them on your site, and the best way to do this is to deliver them quality content. Get the visitor to love your writing, get the visitor to trust your opinion. If they enjoyed their buying experience before, they’re likely to come back and buy through you again.

It’s always nice to have more traffic. However, by following the steps above, you can attract quality traffic that may make you more money in the long run.
