A bottle of Tums is one of those things that you always want to have on-hand.
As a sufferer of heartburn and acid reflux myself, I’ve personally made far too many trips out in the middle of the night just to get some relief. Knowing which stores sell them can be a real lifesaver!
Anyhow, you may be wondering – does 7-Eleven sell Tums and if so, how much do they cost?
In this article, we’ll cover everything that you need to know!
Does 711 Sell Tums?
Yes! We are happy to share that 7-Eleven does carry Tums within their stores, in addition to several other antacids.
Not only that, but the Tums come in several different forms, as well as many different flavors as well. We’ll discuss more about that in just a moment.
This is great news, especially if you are experiencing heartburn, indigestion or acid reflux at this very moment. If you were to make a trip out to 7-Eleven, you’re very likely to find at least one Tums product in-stock.
More than likely, you’ll have a large selection to choose from.
Let’s look over the exact Tums products offered, as well as their prices.
What Types Of Tums Does 7-Eleven Carry?
Currently, 7-Eleven stocks a wide variety of different Tums products. Note however that availability and exact pricing can vary from store-to-store.
- Tums Smoothies (12 ct), $3.19
- Tums Ultra Peppermint Roll (12 ct), $2.29
- Tums Chewy Delight Cherry Flavor (6 ct), $3.79

Imodium, laxatives, and Pepto Bismol are also carried for other stomach troubles. For more information, see: Does 7-Eleven Carry Pepto Bismol?
How Much Are Tums At 7-Eleven?
As noted above, the exact prices of Tums vary between $1.49 and $3.79 for Tums at 7-Eleven.
This brings the cheapest price down to roughly 19 cents per tablet.
Unfortunately, this is much more expensive than purchasing Tums at bulk at a larger retailer such as Walmart, or online on stores like Amazon.
When purchasing in bulk, you can get Tums for roughly 4 cents per tablet, or almost 80% cheaper than purchasing them at 7-Eleven. Therefore, it may make more sense to stock up at a different store.
That being said, 7-Eleven is great because most stores are open 24 hours a day, and are located close by. So, the extra charges can be considered a payment for convenience – 7-Eleven is a convenience store after all!
What Aisle Are Tums In At 7-Eleven?
Tums are typically located in the medicine aisle, near the other antacids and stomach medications.
You should start by looking near other medications specifically used for stomach troubles, such as Pepto Bismol, Alka-Seltzer, and Gas-X.
Note however that smaller rolls of Tums may sometimes be located near the register as well.
If you are having trouble finding Tums during your visit, feel free to ask the cashier or store clerk for assistance!
Do All 7-Eleven Stores Carry Tums?
Yes! It does appear that most, if not all 7-Eleven stores carry Tums – at least in the United States.
To verify, we called stores in New Jersey, Florida, Washington, and California. Each store that we called told us that they had Tums available for sale.
It should be noted that because 7-Eleven sells so many different varieties, you should be able to find some available even if one type sells out.
Additionally, because 7-Eleven carries their own private label brand of antacids, these are also available to use if Tums happen to be sold out.
So, you really don’t have anything to worry about!
How Do Tums Work, Anyway?
Despite seeming like a miracle product, there’s actually quite a simple explanation behind the way Tums work. Tums and other antacids work by raising the pH level in your stomach.
Your stomach is naturally an acidic environment, with a pH level of around 2.0. This acidic environment is necessary to break down food properly. However, sometimes the stomach produces too much acid, which can lead to indigestion, heartburn, and other uncomfortable symptoms.
When you take an antacid, it neutralizes the excess stomach acid, raising the pH level. This creates a less acidic environment that is more conducive to proper digestion, while also relieving you of symptoms.
There are a variety of different antacids available over the counter, and they all work in a similar way. Some common brands include Tums, Rolaids, and Mylanta.
Antacids are generally considered safe for short-term use. However, if you find yourself taking them more than a few times per week, you should see a doctor to rule out any underlying medical conditions.
So, the next time you’re feeling heartburn or indigestion, reach for an antacid and enjoy relief from your uncomfortable symptoms.
Thankfully, 7-Eleven sells Tums at almost all of their stores within the United States. So, regardless of the time of day or night, you should be able to purchase some.
Of course, you can always call the store ahead of time in order to verify that they have them in stock.
