2015 isn’t yet over, but it’s getting pretty darn close.
Because I plan to talk about my 2016 goals as the first post of 2016 and I want to make sure there is some nice actionable information inbetween, I’ve decided to publish my own review of the 2015 year now, and invite you to share your story as well.
Do you ever feel like you’re doing exactly what you should be doing, yet you’re not getting the results you were expecting?
I know I have experienced this feeling many times before, especially earlier on in my blogging career. I was taking all of the advice I was reading everywhere and applying it, yet the results just didn’t come.
While this was nobody’s fault but my own, I honestly didn’t feel I was making any mistakes at that time. If you are not getting the results you are expecting, you’ll want to make sure you aren’t making one of the common mistakes I am about to share with you. It’s not always obvious these are bad things, so really think about them.
After all, the point of a business in the end is to make money.
We all know the importance of eliminating distractions – but it’s hard to do that when we are unable to identify what’s actually distracting us.
Sometimes, we may believe something we are doing is beneficial, but it is actually pulling us off our desired path. Worst of all, we often don’t realize it until it’s too late.
While certainly not a complete list, I wanted to use this article to draw attention to some of the most common distractions I see bloggers get sucked into, so we can avoid them when we come across them!
If you have free time and you’re not pursuing any sort of side hustle, maybe it’s time to change things up.
A side hustle is essentially a small business you run on the side while either continuing to work a traditional job, or another main business.
Perhaps blogging is a side hustle for you right now. Nothing wrong with that – it’s a damn good one, and in fact, taking the two-pronged approach and building your business up to the point where it covers your expenses is a great way to quit your job to blog full time.
Sometimes though, you’ll want to pursue even more.

In March, I announced my plans to create and release 3 different courses: a course on blogging, a course on Kindle publishing, and a course on personal finance.
I made it happen.
In fact, I released two more courses on top of that, all within 6 months – a course on email marketing, and an unrelated course on lucid dreaming that I partnered with another business for.
It’s clear that this has been a year of growth. A year of expansion. A year of making things happen.
And now it’s time to do it again.
