The Best New York Hashtags On TikTok
Let’s now look over the best hashtags to use on TikTok, when filming inside of New York (or discussing New York.)
TikTok has hashtags that aren’t used on Instagram, so you’ll want to pull from this list if you’re posting a TikTok specifically. It is NOT recommended to use the same hashtag set across both platforms, even if you’ll be posting a Reel in addition to your TikTok.
Anyhow, here’s the list!

My Favorite New York Hashtags, And Their Meanings
To round out this article, I wanted to share a few of my personal favorite New York hashtags, and what they’re commonly used for.
1. #NYCLife
New York City is an incredibly unique city, with an incredibly unique culture.
#NYCLife is a great hashtag to use when your post captures the essence of living in or traveling to New York City. It shows off what truly makes the city special, and what type of thing can only happen in a place like New York City.
From beautiful pictures of the city skyline, to street art or street performers, #NYCLife is a diverse hashtag that can apply to a lot of different situations.
2. (Location Of Photo Contents) – For Example, #CentralPark, #TimesSquare
New York is an incredibly large city.
Therefore, instead of looking for pictures of the city as a whole, many people look for posts about specific areas they’re interested in visiting.
So, you may reach a more engaged audience by using hashtags that pertain to the specific place where your photo was taken – rather than using hashtags pertaining to New York as a whole.
3. #ExploreNYC
Want to show off the hidden gems of New York City, that most travelers and tourists wouldn’t know about?
If so, #ExploreNYC is a great hashtag to use!
We can all find the major tourist attractions with a quick Google search. It takes a true New Yorker however to know the ins and outs of the city – the special locations you only really know about by actually living there.
So, if you have a recommendation for others, consider adding #ExploreNYC to your post to help spread awareness!
Conclusion
New York and New York City hold a special place in the hearts of many, and I hope that you’ll find these hashtags suitable for your posts.
Remember that the city is large and diverse, so you’ll want to tailor your hashtag strategy towards the content that’s actually in your post. Instead of using the same hashtags each time, mix it up for the best results!
Wishing you the best, and if you have any hashtag suggestions of your own, please do us all a favor and share them down below!
